Hand #4

You WIN!
But you could have won more.

The correct play is to double down.

The dealer will bust 42% of the time when the upcard is six. You CAN'T bust (with one card), but your chance of improving the hand is only 23%.

Why take the risk of hitting (and degrading your hand) without the reward?

Doubling down on a soft 18 against a dealer's three, four, five, or six is yet another example of raising the bet when the dealer is more likely to lose. It will win you more money in the long run. If the casino does not allow doubling on soft hands then the correct play in this situation is to stand.
